It's ironic that Dicks Sporting Goods is dropping Scentblocker, because something stinks and it smells like liberals. Scentblocker has started including a tag with a Christian outreach message on it among the tags that come on its clothing. Someone at Dicks ( probably one idiot--it almost always is just one or two) freaked out and asked them to remove the tag. Scentblocker, to their everlasting credit, refused and Dicks dropped them. Dicks Now most of my friends are Christians or at least non-hostile toward religion. But of the Atheists or irreligious types I know, I can think of none who would so insecure as to be bothered by this tag. They would simply ignore it. First the AR's and now Jesus-bashing. Are they going to stop carrying Buck knives? Buck has a little section in their paperwork where they talk about God being their "senior partner" at the company. We can't have that, can we? Political Correctness run amok. I found a comment section on their website and wrote this: "Just a quick note to tell you that since your company is persecuting Christians, I will not go in your store or order from you again. As if dropping AR's wasn't evidence enough of liberal contagion, banning a line of hunting wear because of a removable "gospel card" is the final proof that something stinks at the top. If I thought that you would also ban a company that printed a verse from the Quran, maybe I'd see your point. We both know that would never happen, however. I will now be dropping by one of the largest outdoor internet forums in Indiana to let them know about this. Enjoy bankruptcy."

Never stepped foot in a Dicks since they dropped the AR and never will. They couldn't have chosen a better name than what they have. Fits that company to a capital T.

I've only been in there once since they pulled the evil black rifles from the shelves. Only reason then was because I received a gift card from work and I bought some new shoes. Will never go in there again.

As a whole, I've given up shopping at any big box stores. I like the family-owned stores. They seem to care a lot more and these days I enjoy the conversations with the owners/workers. It seems the small store has what you are looking for and or can order it for you. Good luck having a big box store order an item for you.

Just think, the less you spend the earlier you can retire and hunt when ever you want. I wish I learned this earlier in life!

I'm not real crazy about companies that push their religious or political agendas with their products. That stuff is personal, and you client base can be quite diverse.

Just wonder what the thoughts would be if Dicks had pulled merchandise because it had a excerpt from the Quran....

They wouldn't pull the Quran information for fear of being discriminatory.

I use to shop at Galyans all the time. I've been in the Castleton store twice, and that was to buy some New Balance shoes. I would rather spend a little more money at small, local, mom and pop stores than big chain, box stores.
