Man, I'm so very sorry to see this. Always remember the good times you had with her. They far outweigh the bad ones I'm sure. She was lucky to have you as an owner as you were lucky to have her.

Thanks for the kind words. She was truly a great companion. And the good times definitely out weighed the bad. We are giving it a few days and then we'll be on the hunt for another.

My dog is 12 years old and has recently been diagnosed with a brain tumor. There is absolutely nothing we can do. We just simply do not have the finances to do a surgery and the chances of her coming out okay are bleak anyhow. She has gone blind but was getting around pretty decent. As of the past few days, she is showing signs of being in some pain/discomfort. So my question is, can Tramadol be given to a dog to help relax her? She is about 75 pounds. She is still eating good, drinking good, going to the bathroom so I don't think it is "that time" yet. Any thoughts or suggestions from anyone with an opinion is welcome. Thanks. I missed this thread some how...but the vet prescribed Tramadol to our dash hound when his back was bad. It was interesting getting it at Wal-Mart they wanted his name DOB and so on to fill the scrip. Sorry about your loss...
