Do you see more deer in the morning or evening? Last year I killed my bucks in the evening, last hour. Year before around noon chasing does. This year ive only hunted evenings twice but seen more deer than morning hunts. Looks like for me this year evenings might be better, but I will still go in the mornings and all day during rut.

From October 1 to about the 20th I love evenings. They just seem better than mornings in the early season. From then on I kind of prefer mornings for the pre rut and rut but also value the evenings. The mid day has never been my thing but maybe I should give it a try. I like watching football is my downfall.

I'm with hunthard4 and medic22. I like evening a little more than morning in October, but November is morning to 2pm. I like 10-2pm the best. My four biggest bucks all 130-158 were around 10-noon.

The older I get the harder it is to be in a tree at first light, so evenings for me! When the rut kicks in though, I try to sit daylight until dark!

Mornings...hands down....no contest.
I don't really like hunting evenings much. Everything about it eats at my confidence. I've killed very few deer in the evenings. Hate tracking in the dark too.

Evenings. Don't even bother going in mornings anymore except opening of shotgun.

I used to be a hard core before daylight by 30 to 60 minutes. I enjoyed my sits in the dark, listening and watching the stars but had too many deer come in on me during those sits. Now I get on stand right at shooting light or after and that helps me stay out there while I can shoot

I'm not a morning person anymore. For some reason, I just like to see the sun go down from the woods. I've been just as successful in the mornings, but haven't hunted them as much.
I think tracking is fun, even in the dark. I have some good flashlights, and don't have a reason to rush home.

I work 2nd shift, so mornings are hard for me to wake up and be enthusiastic, except for opening week of gun. My success ratio is probably 50/50 morning and night. Best luck in woods and thick stuff in mornings, and crop fields in evenings. Definitely evenings rule when it comes to late season.

It depends on if I'm working nights or days. But I prefer evening hunts.

I would say it depends what your after? Meat? I would say evenings over a food source. Mature buck? I have had more success mornings in travel coridors/funnels. Once chase phase of rut begins. All bets off. You are as likely to see a mature buck at noon as early morning or evening.

I work nights, 4p-4a, but only 3 days per week. I mostly hunt evenings because morning hunts in the "middle of the night" for me.

Morning and late afternoon both work for me. I have been most successful on my place. I walk less than quarter of a mile to my tree stand or blind. Got two nice bucks in the last two years. One at the first of legal daylight and one right at dusk. Keeping my fingers crossed for this season...... Postscript: this is Hamilton county. Bottom 10% in harvest numbers. I am truly blessed with good ground and a little work to make it better.

Evenings until the rut gets close. When the calendar turns to November I notice an immediate shift to morning movement.
