Another thread got me thinking, and this is probably a question for a CO, but it could generate some good discussion.
I have two carry guns that I carry during deer season, and have for years.
A glock 29 10mm and a Glock 27 40 S&W.
Here is the potential problem, these are obviously both legal cartridges this year, but neither of those guns has a 4" barrel. The glock 29 is 3.77 and the 27 is 3.42.
I have ZERO intention of shooting a deer with either of these guns, and will have a shotgun with me at all times.
So what are the odds I get ticketed for "hunting" with an illegal firearm?

I would say as long as you have a legal weapon in your possession the odds are pretty slim.
If one of those was the only firearm in your possession, I would say the person would get a ticket.

Or if you were sitting there and had the shotgun leaned against the tree and the pistol in your hand.

You're fine unless you shoot a deer with it.

The changed the carry law a few years ago!

Question: Wasn't the 4" minimum barrel length waived for .40 cal handguns?

Wouldn't worry about it. I carry a S&W 9 mm 6906 and have talked with a CO with it in plain site. All he said was nice looking gun.

Question: Wasn't the 4" minimum barrel length waived for .40 cal handguns? No. 10mm/.40cal was added as a legal round but all other rules regarding the firearm remain.

Question: Wasn't the 4" minimum barrel length waived for .40 cal handguns? No. 10mm/.40cal was added as a legal round but all other rules regarding the firearm remain. I downloaded a pdf of the final bill as passed, and it does clarify the barrel length issue. any confusion. I believe that an earlier version did leave barrel length on .40 cal. in question.
