If my memory servers me well, I saw him win that particular 44. Yep, you did. The firearm collection has grown since then, but we both still like to shoot it. Just something about the thump it makes. We did a marksmanship class not long after, and at the end we did a fun shoot with the instructor's AR at 100 yards on steel. He let us shoot it with the Handi Rifle as well. One shot hit the chain and obliterated it. His comment was something to the effect of "you would never see a 223 do that!" Absolutely. A 44 is dang near a perfect deer gun. Short, light weight, good range, plenty of energy, and being a single shot will only help to make him a better marksman.

Good to see it getting used

took my 11yo to shoot his new birthday present today. first time he's ever shot a gun bigger than my 22 pistol. he shocked me at how well he shot. every shot he took was on paper. once we zeroed it he was cutting holes. by the way it's a 44 mag cva hunter paired with a 3x9x40 Simmons. shooting Hornadys. I'm a proud dad right now. wish I knew how to post a pic of paper

ok, who's in charge of the thermostat? Can we get the temps to drop a bit???... it is Autumn after all. I'm not asking for much, just 10 degrees will do... ok even 5 will work. Been watching the weather forecast for the last week and now, today's future forecast for this weekend's low, just went UP!!! sigh.........
