Got my stand up a little bit ago and pulled my cams. Had a nice short chat with a co on my way out from hanging my stand. The countdown begins to OCTOBER 1ST !!!

This Saturday I'm going to my new stand and mark a few trees with notches to give me the yardage. I use 2 notches for 20, 3 for 30 etc. I find out that a lot of time I don't have time to grab a range finder. I use it once to find the right tree to mark. Now I don't need to bring it every time. I used a tape measure before range finders were invented.

That's a good idea. I used my rangefinder today to check a couple landmarks around my stand but I'll still keep it handy. I have a few really good spots on the public land I'm hunting, I'm particularly excited about the spot I put my stand at today . Actually I'm just really excited about the upcoming season period.

I put a blind up Tuesday for the deer to get used to. I'll be staying out of the woods from now until season.

I'm the same way. I think I am more excited and ready since a long time. I have two very good spots for seeing a large buck and one or two good spots for does. I have a very large buck patterned very good. I've seen him multiply times the last two years and this time will be the last time. He stays mostly on the neighbors no hunting farm, but he jumps the fence to check the bed that is 50 yards on my brothers place.

When we get cooler weather, maybe that will help. You know, fall is only a 5 or 6 days away.

Trail cam pics are coming in almost all bucks, so that helps get me excited. Less deer, crossbows, and rifles not so much. Thought this pic is neat.

I shot all my hunting arrow last night with my nocturnals and they all shot well and lit up. Some of the nocturnals are 3 yrs old so I was pleased to see they were all in working order. Just need to move a couple stands still but if I don't get to it I am not to worried I can use my climber if I need to make a move.

Numbers never enter your head. You just "know" how to hit where you want. Its a beautiful thing takes thousands of arrows downrange though at various unmarked distances

Thousands of arrows on the 3D range judging yardage and competition will get you the same result!

The more you practice at yardage the easier to know the range, but I will always take additional advantage and this is so simple.

Bow still in shop! Getting new stting! I wanna practice an resight the pins in. Going from a three line sight to a two line sight. Always hated that third line! Checking the tree stands Tuesday. Haven't been in the woods this year, going to put trailcam out too.

JDUB went and walked a new property this afternoon. Lots and lots of field and not enough woods. We're going to try it Saturday morning; what little woods there is total scrub. Only way you are a stand there is a free standing one. Edges are showing plenty of activity, we have a plan; we'll see if it is any good!
