I have one I bought a couple years ago. Its not terrible but the platform is tiny. I'm planning on using it this year to access a hang on i just got from Dunhams. Dunhams has a two man 18' for $84 right now through October 31st. I've found they usually have better deals online and you can pull it up on your phone and they scan it right there.

Hate to know how much money I've saved by never buying a tree stand. I'm kind of like Larry Potterfield: "How many stands, pairs of boots, guns and so on does a guy need? ...at least one more."

I bought one earlier this year on amazon. The platform is small but not very high where I feel uncomfortable. Not a bad deal, don't plan to use it as a every night stand.

I bought one of these a few years back and the platform is really small. If you don't ever need to turn around then you'll be okay once you're set but it's a pain to try and get turned around on that platform with my boots on.

I bought an x-stand from ebay; I don't know how they made any money on it with free shipping. It was a good deal, and nice stand, but it's my only one man stand. It seems dinky to me, and puts the fear in me. It was easy for me to hang it by myself though.
I sure won't go up it without my lifeline. Walking isn't much fun for me, but one day I forgot my harness in my truck. I was NOT climbing in that stand without my harness. I know it's a good safe stand, but it's scary.
I plan to hunt this Brownsville stand once or twice this year, and that's all I'm going to need there. I've got a feeling this is going to be Jon Snow's year, but that feeling could have been from Ella's cooking. My dog thinks she's a good cook though.

Rural King has a 16 foot basic ladder from Big Game Treestands. It has a slightly bigger platform and seat, arm rests, and seat pad. Regular price is $59.99 and they are currently running their 12% rebate sale.

i've owned two of these stand for years and can say they are very uncomfortable. the platform is very small and limits your ability to stand. if you're wanting a little more room, i would recommend the Field & Stream Lookout Deluxe 15' Ladder Stand at Dicks sporting goods. however, the lazyboy of ladder stands is the field and stream is the Field & Stream Outpost XL 17' Ladder Stand. i've used the XL for three years now and won't purchase any other stand.

For those of you who use screw-in steps, Wal-Mart has 6-packs online for $9.72, while they are $14 in store for the same thing! I took a couple of packs to customer service, and they adjusted the price accordingly. www.walmart.com/ip/Ameristep-Grizzly-Treestep-6-Pack/36545651I normally use a climber, but have three hang-on stands for spots I don't feel like packing a climber to. With my bum ankle, I've had to decrease my step spacing from 24" to 18", so I came up short on steps this year.

Here's another good deal on a double stand for $70 w/12% rebate through the 3rd: www.ruralking.com/guardian-xl-ladderstand.htmlI bought 2. My land is so wooded that extra height above this doesn't do me much good. Using doubles to plan for future kid hunting. Not the most comfortable stand, but using a double for one person gives more room to stretch out.

The best buys seem to be at Dick's, Menard's, and MC Sports around January/February. I've seen lots of buy one get one free ladder stands then. That is when I buy most of my hunting gear, in the off season. They practically give the stuff away, I have bought a $400 tripod for under $100, a $300 climber for $60, & a $130 brickhouse blind for $35.
