Great price. Hopefully, good quality.

I saw that ad today. I don't particularly care for them, and certainly don't need one, but I'm thinking about getting one to place way back in the corner of the woods to be able to sneak in on occasion. It wouldn't be one I'd have to be too worried about if the neighbors latched onto it.

I saw a nice two man stand there for $169 and it was 11% rebate time too. It surprised me when I saw most of the good prices at Menards for hunting equipment. I like to hit their post-season sales.

It wouldn't be one I'd have to be too worried about if the neighbors latched onto it. It is pretty basic and not all that tall. I had piece of ladder from and old stand and thought I might be able to extend it higher. No such luck. Mine was 14" wide and this one is 15" wide. It would be good for what you want..

Good price for someone, but I never hunt less than 20 feet off the ground. Ladder stands with PLATFORMS that high are few and far between. Do you guys that use ladder stands feel that they stick out like a sore thumb to deer and trespassers?

Do you guys that use ladder stands feel that they stick out like a sore thumb to deer and trespassers? Sometimes. If I can, I put mine in a group of trees. The spot I have picked out for my son is a group of three. The ladder will tuck between two and the stand will attach to the third. The seat and platform will be in the middle of the triangle.

One of mine is set back in the trees, and the other one is against the edge. I put limbs around it, but they are use to it and walk right by it.

I like being high as well as I think it dissipates your scent a little better and you can get away with a little more movement. That said, I used to hunt with a guy who was scared to death of heights. He never put his stand more than about 4 or 5 feet up the tree. I used to wonder why he used a stand at all and didn't just use a ground blind, but he killed deer all the time. He said you just had to know when to move.

I won't buy one since it is only 15ft. I'm like some others. I prefer 20+ feet. Somewhere between 23 and 30ft depending if I'm on a ridge. I once had one 50ft to get above a hill. It got hit by lightning. I forgot about that story. If I did hunt at 15' I would hide in a cedar tree. At least I'm better hidden.

I have a mig welder and could probably come up with a way of joining the two sections together if you want to try . I have extended several of my ladder stands to gain some height.

15' is plenty high enough for me. I have to have side rails, though, and preferably a shooting rail. I like to sleep in my stands.

Woody you're always finding good deals on stands. I could use a hang on and 20' of climbing sticks! Just saying...

Great price, but no thanks. If I don't feel comfortable and secure, I'm done. I require front and side rails and a seat with padded back. I know that sounds wimpy, but if I'm going to hunt, I'm going to do it the way I want.

I just prefer the extra room of a double.

Hate to know how much money I've saved by never buying a tree stand.

Someone posted almost the exact same stand last year from walmart. I bought a couple, put on my buddies farm for us to use. Don't really care for them. Foot stand is way to little to try and maneuver around in. Seat is really small. These are good for a short hunt, but I wouldn't recommend them over 2hrs hunting. Really hard to try and stand and shoot from. The double stands or the full foot platforms are the way to go.
