Traditional Bowhunter is a great magazine no matter if you use wheels or not. Great photography too. I chose peterson's bowhunting as I get more out of Bill Winke's articles than maybe the rest of the authors combined. He hunts like I like to, using common sense over fads and gimmicks it seems.....

I have not read all of the mags listed here, but the best out of the ones I have read is D & DH. Not necessarily a bowhunting mag, but has the most info about whitetails in it.
I have let all my subscriptions lapse because it seems like more and more the mags are mostly ads. The bow reviews in most of the mags are a joke....4 1/2 stars to every bow...c'mon. Is the mag really going to do an honest review of a bow from a company that advertises in their mag?
JMO here, but the best info out there is on message boards just like this!!! Of course there are message boards who are loyal to edvertisers too, but if you can find a good message board with honest people who make no bones, and tell it like it is, then that is far more valuable than any mag.

D&DH and North American Whitetail are my favorites. D&DH is probably the best source of deer behavior and research information available to the average hunter.

I've subscribed to D & DH since it first came out. They usd to have a club called "Stumpsitters" and we would send in all kinds of deer observation surveys to them. I think I stll have my patch..

Deer and Deerhunting by far the best mag out there though not a bowhunting mag. IMO

I agree with Dan. Every mag writer has sold their soul to advertisers. They have to. The only thing I look for in mags are shooting articles and maybe a good story. I guess if you want to find a good bow, come to a place like this on the web, then go to the pro shop and try it out.

I don't think the deer here read D&DH,magazine at least they don't act like they do,lol, lol, but seriously,I've found my most useful info are from the deer themselves,I'm in the woods everyday, and observe them when I can, have you ever followed a deer in the woods without being detected? you can learn a lot that way,but with todays time constraints that's not very feasable for most hunters,I've read D&DH and find it very good, but myself I like TBM, the stories take me on hunts that I can't afford, and the pics aren't too bad either, and besides I'm a traditional only type of guy, sticks ,strings, and smokepoles..................STEVE
