We are no longer an 8 county. It's a start and I'll take it.

Anyone done the UPS and DOWNS? DFW reduced only five counties and increased two... Per FB experts! Some may need some cheese to go with the Whine... Lol

Here in Tippecanoe we went down again to a 3 which means no late antlerless season.

Where I hunt in Martin Co. was terrible for of couple of years, got a bit better, and then was excellent last year. So now the DNR raises the antlerless limit to four, the highest it has ever been. Sounds like typical Gvt. agency logic.

My county, Harrison, hasn't changed, still an 8 county. Despite what the whiners and armchair biologists think, my own observations show not only an increase in buck sightings, but healthier deer in general. The browse lines, which were getting worrisome a few years back, are all but gone now. Say what you want, but I feel that the high doe limit has improved the herd here, and judging from our trophy ranking you'd be hard pressed to disagree.

Based on the (as of yet) unexplained major jump in the number of deer killed by out of state hunters last season, I think the DNR needs to step in and make some changes in that area. Here's my post on that subject.... As of now, I've never come across any post explaining those harvest numbers, thus I would make the number of out of state tags limited and the cost more in line with surrounding states right off the bat.

I have a request in to the DNR on the big jump in numbers. Personally I believe they have made a mistake and counted some resident kills as non-resident.

I can't disagree, but I would love to see an explanation as to what the NR numbers actually were and where the numbers were supposed to be posted to.
Regardless, I think it's time for the DNR to take a hard look @ NR OTC tags as far as numbers allowed and the cost as compared to the surrounding states.
