I usually hunt KY, and have already tagged out as of Thursday! Hunt private land owned by family, lots of birds there.
My question... I have two friends I'm trying to help get into turkey hunting, and they're Indiana residents. Trying to find some land that would give them decent shot at a bird to hunt on. What do you guys recommend as far as land down here in southern Indiana? We live in Evansville.

Hoosier national isn't too far of a drive. That's where I killed turkeys when I was living in Evansville. Headed down towards tell city and had birds all over the place.

Man, right now the places I usually hunt are low bottom land, and they all have standing water or flooded. Hoosier forrest is good

Is there any good turkey hunting at Bluegrass? I've seen some wild turkey crossing the roads out at Bluegrass F&W area over the past five years. But I've never hunted them. I bet there will be too many others out there hunting that public land to make for any really good hunting opportunities. IMHO. It's only about 2,500 acres and there are going to be way too many other hunters on that small parcel of land. But there are some Turkeys out there.

Been at bluegrass, not seen many turkeys up there. I know they hang out in private ground, but seen some hens in public land.

Clark State Forest. 25,000 acres 19 miles north of the KY/IN line. Heavily hunted during deer gun season but not Spring turkey

Hoosier National Forest has a lot of turkeys. However, HNF also has a lot of turkey hunters.
