Hunt #3 this morning. The first hunt was in the middle of 25 mph winds, but we managed to call up 2 hens and heard 2 gobblers that wouldn't work.
Hunt #2 was an evening hunt that started with a mud boat ride, followed by a trek through the swamp. Called several hens in, but the only gobbler close got cut off by a hen about 100 yards out.
Hunt #3 has us on the edge of a swamp bordered by a cow pasture. Birds gobbler well off the roost and one decided to walk into 40 yards and stop behind a limb laying on the ground. He had a hen behind him and as he decided to leave my boy did not feel comfortable enough to shoot 40 yards. Can't fault him for that.
Birds are still gobbling as I type, so I don't think the morning is over.

Papa isn't a little proud is he? Congratulations to the both of you. My wife asks me every day if you guys have had any good luck. The picture answered that question for her. P.S. That beard looks like a rope!!!

That beard looks like a rope!!! There's a lot of happy people down here that is for sure! Probably none more than I am though. I am absolutely amazed at what my friends put into getting him on a bird. It was not an easy hunt, but we were blessed to even be able to make it happen.
