This year isnt as bad as expected. Fished a public lake thursday. Caught the biggest mudcat ive ever caught, 1 bass, 4 white crappie, and a bluegill. No keepers though. Went out again today. Caught a couple dozen crappie, about a dozen bluegill, and a dozen or so bass between the two of us. Had 4 or 5 12"+ crappie.

I used to catch those alot as a kid. Id ride my bike down behind what is now I-69 and fish the lakes, they were absolutely loaded. Most of the ones Ive caught were 8-10" and never put up much of a fight. I caught this one on a Bottom Dwellers Tackle Cat Fight rod. If youre not familiar with those, Its capable of hauling in 100# blues.
That little guy just knocked it over, didnt even know he was in the line till he broke the surface. I just assumed the wind knocked the rod over.

Nice going. Looks like you are having a great year so far.
I have the bug to catfish the river this week...I need to hook into a nice one or ten! This time of the year is best for me.

This time of the year is best for me. you could come fishing for a bass boat a feller got, put in the river missing an essential piece and now it's sitting on the bottom of the river.

Bullheads have a rounded tail the one in the photo has a forked tail. Catfish have a forked tail that why I am curious.
Bullheads caught in the spring taste a lot better than catfish their meat is white, even my wife prefers it over catfish.

Could easily be an injury, i dont think i looked at it when i caught it.
