Deer around here seem to really, really like radishes. Pretty sure they will be part of my plots each year from now on.

Mine look like that too. It's funny to watch the deer pull them up by the leaves then chew them down to the bulb. Sometimes they'll have the whole bulb in their mouth, look like they've got a big chew of Red Man in.

You can throw down the brassica seed in farm fields and have good results right before harvest and the equipment presses the seed in It helps the field so with permission I don't think there would be any objections from farmer There is Money for these Cover Crops at the FSA

My neighbor to the south...the guy who planted a bunch of acres in cover crop of turnips, rye and even beans....his beans were wiped out long ago. I haven't walked all of his turnips but what I've seen they are not getting hit hard yet. Don't know if it's because the deer prefer the radishes or if they prefer the security of being hidden in my WRP. Whichever the case my radishes are just about gone....and season is just about over. I do have some rye as well and with the warm temps its still growing. I would assume sooner or later the deer will go to his turnips as well.
Even with the limited capture ability of a regular trail cam I've got pictures of 15 deer in frame feeding on the radishes.
With the spotty rain I only got a good stand of radishes on about an acre....next year I hope to have 4 acres of radish and rye along with 5 acres of beans.

The deer love the radishes here as well. They run to them. I definitely will plant them next year.
