The rumor floating around,...This deer supposedly came off the King Ranch. Awesome Deer..... is one of the biggest we have ever seen. inside spread: 34 inches beams: 32 inches each G1: 10 inches ea G2: 14 in. ea G3: 15 in. ea G4: 11 in. ea mass: 45 inches droptine: 7 inches We have him grossing around 243 and netting 224 typical. The deer field dressed 228lbs!!!!! One of the biggest we have ever seen. Justin Field King Ranch Wildlife Biologist Now the rest of the story from the Boone and Crockett trophy watch..... New Record for World's Records Rumors? December 19, 2005 This photo, along with a bogus email, has been sent around the globe faster than the speed of light. In it, it claims that it will score 224 B&C typical even after the droptines are deducted, which of course, would be yet another world's record. As with almost every world's record whitetail rumor, this one is false, too. We spoke to the measurer claimed in the email as having scored it, and he has never even seen this deer before. It is a very unique and interesting buck, but not a world's record, and for sure not as a typical. www.boone-crockett.org/news/trophyWatch.asp?area=news#watch657B000D-E8D9-4022-B3DB-D9BFC6E01353

you'd think if someone could afford to spend $20,000 to kill that high fence buck then surely he could afford something nicer than that early 90s PSE.

The King Ranch is not fenced nor does it have to be it's about the size of southern Indiana. That's a dandy for sure.

That deer does not look right, it does not look like it would weigh remotely around 200 lbs yet 228, Just look at the picks it looks like a doe with horns

The dog would go 175 or so. I cant see 224 score wise either.

HeeHeeHee.........34 inch spread....HaHa...........228 pounds....OHHH REAALLLYYY ???When will the madness end? Why on Earth would anybody try to pull off a rumor like this????If these measurements are correct then maybe I should examine my mediocre Indiana 8-pointer a little closer. Maybe it would go from 117" to a 200" monster. No, no, I should say it measures 314" (sounds so outlandish it would have to be the truth then, ?). Oh, and did I mention that I had to quarter him for the 1/4 mile hike across that Clay county pasture? Well I did because he weighed 598 pounds (one of these days I will get one of those heavy bucks, you know, maybe 700 pounds plus. I will never admit to taking it with an old two cam bow...heck no, I shot it with a Mathews, Hoyt or Bowtech (take your pick) as they have deep pockets for endorsing my slain beast. I wont even try to mention all the scents and calls it took to lure him into range. But I will say I never could have done this great deed without my faithful companion.....The Deer-View Mirror. Merry CHRISTmas boys. Hoosier.

I read another story on this deer on another site. The guy made the pictures up and sent them ot a buddy as a joke. He said he had no intentions of getting credit or pulling a hoax on the world.

This has got to be a hoax!!! 34" inside spead??? Let's get some scale here.... I'm 5'11", when I squat down like the older guy in the photo I'm only 46" tall at best. That would still leave a foot of me hanging out from inside.
Check out the arrow the guy is holding. does it look like this guy has a 34" draw length? I'm sure the specs on his bow could be checked to help determine some scale also. If THAT is 34" I've been short changing myself and some of the girls I've dated over the years ;D

EVERY year we hear of countless "possible world record" whatevers.
The truth rate on these are pretty well nil..
This one is a prime example. The pics don't stack up to the claims. My guess is this was rifle kill and they tried to pass it off as a bow kill.
If one can afford to hunt the King Ranch, one could afford a lot better equipment than that bow

He's also using a Wal-Mart carbon Wolverine Hunter arrow too. Killed my first bow deer with one of those too!

Wondering why 3 different hombres posed with the buck, and all with the same bow?
Those antlers could be a fabrication. It's rare for long, rearward drop tines to possess sharp and polished tips. Such long drop tines are usually club-shaped and dark at the tips.
