AWESOME DEER! I was there as well in the Red zone and managed to walk thru more briars than I even thought possible. We didn't see a deer but there is always that chance, so i'll keep going back! Major congrats on that beast!

Congrats on a nice buck!!
One meeting that I went to at Chain of Lakes, they said that we were supposed to shoot the first 3 deer that we saw, only that we couldn't shoot more than one buck. They also said that if they heard of guys being "picky" or "trophy hunting" and passing up a buck if they haven't shot one yet, that they would start confiscating all the horns again. They said that the hunt was for us hunters to help them help the habitat, not for them to help us hunters harvest a trophy buck.

I shoot the first 3 legal ones that walk by me. This was the only deer I seen. The previous 2 hunts there I took multiple does. I have family members who take these hunts as opportunities to trophy hunt and it kills me.

When I was going, I was using it as a meat hunt, and also donating at least one to Hunters and Farmers feeding the Hungry.
