I'll be at my food plot later today after I deliver the raccoons. I can't believe someone wants to eat them, but it sure makes me feel better about shooting them. My Great Aunt's Husband was an avid Raccoon Hunter. She said they were good eating, especially baked; she said the tasted like a beef roast. ~BUT I wouldn't eat them. just guessing you eat chicken though?

I just read in the local paper that the deer parade is coming down my street tomorrow. The urban doe majorettes will be leading the all buck marching band in front of the hunter float holding up unfilled bundle tags.
I bet they'll be laughing and giggling, blowing and grunting. I would say that they'll be blowing horns, but deer have antlers. Horns are hollow like my freezer.

Too funny John! These urban deer are smart! Not sure I will hunt everyday but one more doe would be nice.

Well poop. Nothing tonight. I had a doe and button buck at about 150 yds, every time she stopped walking to eat, there were branches in the way. I was about 130 yds into the woods and they were in the field. I could have shot the button buck, but I told myself that I was going to take a mature doe and not a yearling.
I also had a really, really nice 10 point (3 1/2 years old I'd say), a nice 8 and another buck of unknown size at 40-60 yds 20 minutes before the end of legal shooting time, and the crosshairs were on the 10 point. Too bad I had the Muzzleloader in my hands instead of the crossbow. They'll be even larger come October.

Think I just set my worst personal record to close out the season. Ive gone over 8 weeks now without seeing a single deer from my stands on the Mississinewa. As I was sitting last night I was figuring that these past 8 weeks I have averaged "roughly" between 15-20 hours in the stand per week. To not even see a deer within 500 yards in well over 30 trips to the stand was a pretty tough pill to swallow. All I can do now is sit back and lick my wounds and hope things look better out there next year...
Congrats to everyone who was successful this year!!

Last 3 weeks everything I've seen was on the way in or on the way out or later in the evening. Nocturnal happens.

I eat skittles but wont eat raccoon. skittles don't eat poop... Or each other So that is your angle ... because both chickens and raccoons are disgusting animals you may as well eat both? Dogs will eat other dogs and will also eat their own crap but some folks hold them in equal regard to a human child. What do similar disgusting habits have to do with the way something tastes?
