Call me crazy, but I'm at it again.
I have gotten 3 coons in as many days. Thankful for this.

It 's a beautiful quiet day. Cold, but not much wind here.
For next year, I'd like to get an elevated blind that I can heat and a mirror on the stand so I can see what is behind me. I might be paranoid, but it always feels like something is back there.
I'm thinking that I want a portable blind that I can take with me if the owner ever sells or I get my own place. Pricey, but gives me more options.
Lots of little wood peckers here. Land owner cleared out a lot of dead trees. His poplar trees took a beating.

The landowner is giving me the whole back 3 acres of his horse pasure for my food plot. Can I get anymore blessed. I have big plans, but think I may need a bigger ATV or tractor. My little 350 has been wonderful, but really struggled pulling that disk.

No deer tonight, but it sure seem perfect conditions to see one.
Tomorrow, I'll help Indymarine get a deer or coyote. I've been saving the coon parts. The disabled vet friend of my loaned me an electric call. I've made several new friends this year.

I'll be headed out here shortly. Headed to the new farm I picked up for the first time this evening. This will be my last hunt of the year. Hoping to go out with a bang! I'm taking my bow..can't say anything is safe tonight. Ive hunted hard this year..have zero complaints. Still holding my buck tag but not because of lack of opportunities..I've had my choices just not what I was after. Hate to see hunting season come and go..but am very thankful for all the blessings. Enjoyed sharing my season with you guys and gals, and very much enjoyed yall sharing yours with me. Good luck to those who are still trying to fill tags! I'll be live from a tree I've never sit in before here shortly...that alone excites me!

Made a big loop still hunting a new area for me on HNF. Watched 2 young bucks, an 8 point and a 6 or 7 point, feeding in a field for awhile around 1030. Heard another deer blow, and shortly afterward another hunter walked right through the field. I don't think he ever saw the bucks as it is an irregularly shaped field. Unfortunately saw no does, but may have found a good morel picking spot in another area.

Lost password... been around though.
12:00 exactly, stumbled up on 5 does grazing the main fire trail on way to the truck. Couldn't get close enough, I tried, they watched but they kept their distance. I think once the wind shifted and they scented me they sped up their pace off into the woods. Weird though I've hunted their 16+ years and always dreamed of walking up on deer in that specific area.

Can't believe they choked that one away. Have to learn to beat press defense. I'm pretty steamed still over it. I'll be out tomorrow, could not hunt tonight had to be in noblesville all day for the last xmas party of the season. Was out last evening and seen 7 deer, the most i have seen in one sit all year. Could not manage a shot though with the bow. Wind was marginal at best and they were a little edgy. Hoping tomorrow it's more northerly then west.

Around 5pm 4-5 local deer were out in the field across from my urban subdivision. Haven't seen them in a while. Guess the cars take more of them out than hunters.
