Beck's is harvesting their seed corn. Lot of bean fields are clear now too. Looks like a late harvest though. Beck's has extended their 12% prepay discount from 9/15 to 9/25 for cover crop seed. Not a big deal but 10 more days. My beans have just started to turn

Not a lot going down here yet. Hoping it starts up soon though. Lots of beans turning up here and corn is looking brown and ears are hanging low!

Seemed like heavy cutting a couple weeks ago, lasted about a week and nothing now. The main fields bordering me are still standing but everything around them is cut now.
Would really like to see it gone by next weekend..youth weekend.

The fields look ready to go around here ... I keep waiting, but they haven't started picking/shelling/harvesting/cutting around here.

There's been a little around here but I haven't noticed a lot. Most fields are still standing.

GS1,
Its a lot different than when I first started hunting there. They used to have a home, shed and an outhouse in addition to the barn.
"Gammon's Gang" accidently burned the home down when they used it as a deer camp. The Sheltons weren't too happy about that. The shed and outhouse finally fell down and Scales bulldozed it.
The non-resident owners did a land swap and now own Buck Road from the corner all the way back to the property line. It is now gated off with "private road" and "no trespassing" signs. Mark and I keep tabs on the place for them and in turn we have the combination to the gate and permission to park at the barn. They live in Missouri and have more turkeys than they know what to do there with so they told me I can turkey hunt the 80 acres.
deal.....

Yet to see the fist combine here in the Floyd Co. area. Drove about 90 miles south down 65 in Ky today and did not see a picked field, period.

Had 2 300-400 acre corn fields picked across from my lease in Pulaski County at some point last week. Keep on it Mr. Farmer!!! I do have a question though. I mentioned to the farmer that I would like to buy some standing beans to leave standing from him. He sounded open to it and asked that I give him a call this week so we may talk about it. So what's a fair price roughly per acre to pay for standing beans??? and for that matter corn as well???

Price by avg bushel per acre Yes the prices bounce up and down but that's the numbers I'd start with they are on the higher end actually price shouldn't vary 50$ -/+

I guess dealing with farmers most my life I learned if you want something from them offer your higher price if they want something from you start with a lower price and they will be happy
