Wish me luck!!! Started this morning, pain comes in waves. Getting worse and worse. Had a few over the last couple years. Luckily still have meds leftover from last one. 1st time ER, 2nd time doc, now just ride it out at home. Watched my Grandfather, Dad, and uncles go thru it, new it was a matter of time for me. Only good thing is they all quit in the mid to late forties. I am 41 so I look forward to that day!

Just the thought of it gives me a panic attack; I have to go take a nap. Hang in there buddy.

Thanks fellas, the pain has eased up to reasonable for now. But I don't know if it is the pain killers or if it has passed to the bladder already. Normally mine have taken about 24-36hrs to finally pass down the pipe. Oh such fun. Thank God I have not stuck one yet! My uncle did and it had to be surgically removed, and you know there is only one road to go and get it. Give me Morphine in a shot glass please just for thinking about it!

Ouch. Well I guess on the bright side you can tell your wife you know what it's like to give birth. I'm sure that will go over well. ;-)

Kidney stones are always diet related, particularly high oxylate foods and cholesterol. Read up on the oxylate foods, you'll be surprised how many you're probably consuming, and then begin reducing them from your diet. Do the same with cholesterol sources, and other items that raise LDL cholesterol, your kidneys will thank you. If your doctor hasn't already told you, start taking B6 and magnesium supplements. This will make the oxylate stop binding to the cholesterol, which is how the most common stones form. It will also cause existing stones to slowly dissolve before they can get larger.

Best of luck. I have had three bad ones and one surgery with a stent that I had to wear a week and then pull out...pray that does not happen.
I just passed number four few weeks ago--- a big one that oddly caused no discomfort.
I Pray it passes quick!

Finally pushed its way thru. Probably a 5-6 mm (guessing) as compared to the others I took in and were analyzed and measured. Glad to be done with this one and get back to lifes routine. Thanks for the well wishes.
