I got my new Caldwell field pod a few days ago from Amazon ($60). Adjust easily for my shotgun and crossbow. I really enjoy it and think it's going to be a great asset in the ground blind.

I picked my Primos trigger stick bipod out of the closet a few weeks ago and the trigger part came apart in my hand. I called them, told them what happened and since it's over a year old it's out of warranty and I'm S.O.L.
I liked it, but it was a bit too high for when I was sitting in a chair on the ground. The Primos Trigger Stick tripod model is the correct height, but I don't like the price.

My son uses the field pod and I've used it coyote hunting. They work very well, but we're having problems getting his crossbow to sit in it well.

I've considered one of these for years, but didn't know anybody who had one to get an honest review. I too am surprised by the price.

G51:
If you can adjust the Field Pod so that the front part doesn't contact the barrel, you will see better accuracy with the gun. Anything that touches the barrel will change the harmonics, and that affects accuracy. It really affects accuracy if whatever is touching the barrel isn't putting exactly the same pressure on the barrel, in exactly the same spot every time the gun is fired.

I was able to set my up so the stock, right behind the sling swivel, sits on the front rest. And that for the same reason you just mentioned.

I have a Caldwell Magnum Field Pod but have only played around with it using my Gamo Pellet Rifle. Now I've put my Ambush Firearms AR15 in it and played around with it in the house. But the Magnum version is heavier and weights 13 lbs. That's a lot of extra weight to lug around in the field.
The Magnum Field Pod is very sturdy and highly adjustable. It comes with a sling to help carry it.
I'm wanting the Field Pod Chair now. I like the idea of the chair and field pod swiveling around 3650 deg.
I was getting the Field Pod Magnum version out of my truck last winter and getting ready to carry it to my hunting setup when my Right elbow started hurting so bad that I had to cancel the hunt at midnight and head back home. I ended up having to go to the doctor to get a shot of cortisone and get some physical therapy for my tendinitis. Now I'm working in fixing a "frozen Rt Shoulder" from another accident. When I get healthy I'll want to take the Magnum Field Pod out hunting with me again and give it another try.
I did use it to shoot at some squirrels in nearby trees around my house. And was very pleased with how it performs. I can make it go down to the ground and shoot from the prone position or stand up and shoot the rifle using it. It's easy to tighten it up or lose it up when using a rifle.
I would be great if you could hunt right out of the back of a truck in open areas or out of a blind at night or daylight. A blind setup would be your best bet. It will hold your gun at the ready for you while you use binoculars or range finders.
I've seen most of the regular lighter weight Field Pods on sale for around $100. I paid about $200 for the Magnum version. I had read that some of the plastic parts on the regular Caldwell Field Pod were breaking so they (Caldwell) made the Magnum version heavier and beefier.
I'd rather use the lighter weight one in the field if you have to carry your stuff very far to the setup. Now if you have an ATV four wheeler then the Magnum one might be better.
Standing up and shooting gives you the best ability to swivel around and change which way you are shooting. I can walk around the tripod easily and change positions 180 deg in a second or two. In case the predator comes in behind you instead of where you thought they were appear.
