Anybody know how to check the charging system to determine if it's the stator or rectifier that's bad?? Not having much luck online,a little but still can't figure it out?

I Googled that back when I was having charging issues with my first motorcycle. All I remember is that I had found a very detailed procedure to check different connections with a voltmeter.

Hmm. Well I hope I figured it out,it's got 12.64 volts coming out of the stator and into the regulator but only 11.74 volts coming out of the regulator so I assume it's bad and I ordered one. I hope that's it.

Usually it is the regulator I think is what I was told

That's what the lady at the bike shop said too,she said she's never seen a stator go bad,but I'm sure they do occasionally.

It was the stator that I had to replace on my first bike, 1980 Honda CB750k. Some guy out west was still rebuilding old ones and took mine in as a core. Something like $90 IIRC. That was half the cost of a new one from Honda or anywhere else.
