Last night I was out mowing a clover plot and checking trail cams. In one of my back hay fields I saw a doe with 4 fawns with her?? (Never seen one with quads before). Also in the same field but on opposite end I saw 4 other does and 8 fawns. Seems to be an unusual amount of fawns running around this year. Also on way in saw 5 more fawns in my horse pasture. Not complaining just havn't seen this many fawns running around before. I do have a very healthy deer herd in my area but still seeing 17 fawns in one evening in just 2 of my fields is a bunch. Have seen several does with triplet's over the year's, but never quad's. Not sure if it is even possible??? Guess one of them could have wondered off from it's mother and got with this group??? Anyways maybe with the wet spring more survived. I do know many farmer's in my area are just getting their first cutting of hay done so maybe this helped as well??

This spring and cooler summer has greatly assisted fawn survival....We aren't seeing quads or triplets but seem to be a good amount of fawns running around here as well.
