Where did the special license go. Are we back to buying an archery license and then when checking game in report it as urban zone? That's what it looks like!!!

Will someone help me understand what urban zone really is? Especially as it relates to me in Greenwood. I was told that I'm actually not allowed to shoot my air rifle or crossbow in my yard. Sure I do, but never thought about shooting a deer in my yard.
How big does a property have to be to be in an urban zone hunting area? Heck I have woods and a big berm in my back yard, but...
Highcotton, can you explain this to me?

Highcotton, can you explain this to me? First, pick up a regulation book or look the regulations up online. In the deer section you will find a subsection on Urban Deer Zones. In that section you will find a list of all the legally accepted Urban Deer Zones, or might be called Deer Reduction Zones this year.

You need to check the laws for Greenwood jon, they may have a "no projectile" type of restriction which may include archery gear. The deer reduction zones are defined in the hunting regs.
Before it was always archery only to qualify as a urban zone kill. Now I think they have changed it to allow other methods of take as long as they are legal in the location that you would want to participate in a reduction zone.

After a phone call to the local police station on what the ordinance was, my problem was solved. Contact DNR or Police and find out exactly what is regulated in your area because sometimes just finding information online can be a little hazy.
