This has nothing to do with rain yet. I was given a .22 bolt action that a landowner found in the woods then subsequently placed in a barn and it sat there for? Well its full of mud dober mud how should I get it out?

Total disassembly and very carefully.
Wire brush, tooth brush, gun solvent, and lots of patience.

Extremely long and very tiny drill bit, and again, lots of patience. :-)

If you can get the barrel and metal parts separated from the wood stock, immerse it in water to allow mud in barrel to soften up, then you might be able to blow it out with a hose nozzle and a cleaning rod. Water won't hurt anything so long as you dry and oil it afterwards.

Can you rig something up with an air compressor? May help, especially if you get the mud soft first.

If brake line is less than 1/4" you might be able to rig it up to a hose and use water pressure to flush it out. I used a copper pipe and the hose to drill a hole under the sidewalk. Punched itself right through. I am afraid soaking will take forever. The nest are like cement. The SOBee's filled the key slot on my mower this year.

I have found a barrell on eBay a few times for like 30$ but that seems to easy
