We have gotten a lot of rain here in Jasper County lately. 4.75" yesterday alone! Never in my 13 years at my residence have had water standing in my back yard. With today the only day the past week, and the week to come, without rain forecasted I figured I better mow. While doing so I got a little too close to the garden, which now being over run with weeds!

Getting a little ridiculous. I got a ticket on the way to work today for not having enough life jackets in my pickup

In my area, we've only received <1" of rainfall, so far this month. We could use some of that "excessive rain" you're receiving in Jasper Country, Indiana.

Not just Jasper County, White and Pulaski[just east of Jasper Co,] have been hammered, too. Here is some pics of Norway and Oakdale dams on Lakes Shafer and Freeman. Oakdale Dam below Lake Freeman. Immediate area below the dam. The area across the river where the trees are is the Nipsco fishing area below the dam on the west side of the Tippecanoe River. My brother in law's place on the Tippe, about 3 miles below Oakdale. Normally you can walk across the river at his place. These two pics are at Norway Dam, below Lake Shafer and Indiana Beach, taken from the bridge. More water expected over the weekend...... maddog

Don't know, but yer gonna need a helluva long pole, with a lotta line to reach the river from where you're gonna have to stand right now. This pic was taken from the bridge below Oakdale Dam, looking up stream toward the dam. maddog

I hear downtown Portland starting flooding again last night. A few years back it did that and all the stores had a foot or more of water in them. It stopped a block from our house 8 blocks away. Don't know how bad it is this time since I live in the country now and haven't seen it first hand.

To top off all this rain, we had a big wind storm about 4PM yesterday that did some serious damage. Luckily no building or home damage, but I've got about five big trees down around the yard and it looks like a bomb went off. Probably a bunch more back on the farm. Guess I know what my plans are this weekend
