I have a first addition numbered 1 of 1000 book "the Winchester model 12", signed by George Maddis in I'd say as close to new condition as you can get. Is there a market and anyone know realistic price. I'm searching but getting all over the place.

It's worth exactly as much as one is willing to pay. I'd think there would be a lot of Winchester model 12 fans out there. I think my buddy has 5 of them.
You could ebay it with a reserve.

It appears from amazon, ebay, abebooks and the like that the book shows $150. Those are not bid or sold prices so no way to know if they sold and/or what price they sold. Best gauge would be some forums like trapshooters that show the book selling for $100. It looks like all of the books are embossed 1 of 1000!? Any idea what that means?

Got me unless its first, second, and third edition. Seen one on an auction sight guy wanted $1200. Course my luck mine ain't that.

Being one who has been fortunate enough to find some collectables (AND was silly enough to move them instead of hoarding them back) I can offer that time is on your side as I'm sure you know. The more time you take to move it (if indeed that is your best option) the more you will get for it.
While it may ruffle some feathers here or elsewhere, and I was the person holding onto such and intended on selling it I would put it on Gunsamerica or Gunsinternational at a fixed price AT LEAST double what you are finding on other copies. Selling fees there are quite reasonable ESPECIALLY compared to the "big auction" (starting with E) that gouges a seller badly IMHO. I've totally stopped using it and their money making machine paypal (that ebay owns). Some will scoff telling you that you wont get it. I've been told such many times yet the item, if it is indeed one of a kind, WILL sell and Ive proven this more times than I can recall.
Include about 3-4 photos, a couple quotes from online pages about it (with links) and emphasize that it is A SIGNED COPY and "No 1 of 1000" in the title and again in the text, and "stick to your guns" on price.
There is only one of those, and it only takes one collector. Bargain hunters will attempt to haggle. I flat wouldn't. I wont tell you what I WOULD ask for such, not publicly, but it would be considerably more than prices mentioned.
2 cents God Bless
