We decided to go out to sit in the blind and move it at the end of the hunt. We called for a little while and then just sat in silence listening. An hour passed or so and my dad decided to try calling again. After a short sequence we heard a gobble. We gave him a very more soft calls and he gobbled a couple more time. He was getting closer and we were ready. A few minutes passed and I told dad I could hear him walking in the leaves. Looked behind us and here he came ten feet from the blind. He strutted and walked into the field and I could tell he had received a butt whooping at some point. You can see he has less than a half fan that is mostly destroyed. But I didn't care. I saw the long beard and knew I wanted him. He closed in on our decoy and I dropped him where he stood. 10 in beard 1 in spurs 20 lbs. We had a blast and now he's up to bat in the morning! Can't wait.

An old battle scarred bird is more than enough trophy for a lifetime of memories. A big congrats!
