Who among us has actually killed a 170"+ net typical whitetail? Officially measured of course.... Entered or not? Just curious.....seen several online conversations where folks say they wouldn't enter them but I wonder how many of those folks have actually killed one. I have a few P&Y caliber deer with non being officially scored and entered but I've never killed a 170. That is just a very special number and I don't know for sure I wouldn't enter it. A 170"+ net typical whitetail is a very good/nice Deer to say the least.... In 2006 I killed a 200+" Non-Typical whitetail, entered it in the "books" and never looked back...never forget that day!!!

Nobody in my close circle of hunting friends has killed a 170 net typical. I think one is over 170 but has a lot of deductions.
Very special class of deer indeed.

Shoot let's just say saw a bonafide 170....I've only seen one and it was a fleeting glimpse but a NO DOUBTER. Otherwise I've killed the biggest bucks I've seen on hoof and a few of them making P&Y but never officially entered. While the desire and the stigma of the book isn't what it once was, I'd be lying if I stated I wouldn't at least get it scored and entered as to have a plaque or whatever to hang next to it. Shoot I have my scorecard from my one buck hanging next to it and it's just shy of 140...but a special hunt and story.

160 is really rare, let alone 170.
I have seen one buck that I am very confident could have pushed near the Booner status while hunting. I missed him in archery and he walked out of my life and into my dreams. He has haunted me for 3 years now. Other than that, I have never seen a Booner while hunting. I have killed 2 that gross over 150 and are in the Indiana book, but Booners...those are a different animal.

2009 Wyoming and 2003 Indiana. No reason not to. Just never have. Only reason they were scored was guys I hunted with at the time were scorers. I have several that surpass p&y that were never scored. You know don't know why I never registered them. Suppose just never crossed my mind.

I have one Booner officially in the books, but it is only a non-typical. I really didn't care if it was entered or not but others talked me into it. So I guess that makes me one of the "I wouldn't enter a buck" types and yet when the time came I did it anyway.
