And we entrust these types with our healthcare and security - we're doomed! Our Social Security number, which is OUR IDENTITY, in the "eyes" of the Government. It should be prohibited for companies like Anthem or other Health Insurance companies or investment companies to collect clients SSN and kept on file in a computer, where hackers can obtain access to them. How on earth did these companies keep our SSN stored before the age of the internet?
Here in Kentucky, one must submit their SSN when they purchase a Hunting & Fishing license.

Want to make any assumptions on which political party most of these "centenarians" belong to?

What I want to know is what the IRS plans to do about the individuals who are using these SS numbers to "function" in society.
How many illegal immigrants are using these numbers? How many relatives are still collecting Social Security payments from a long dead relative?
In the end, it's just another example of gross incompetence by our Federal government....

Considering only about half of those eligible to vote actually do i would guess the majority of these thieves dont go to the polls.

My wife has been fighting identity theft for about 4 years now .... it is a problem that no office wants to deal with. We know roughly where the person lives. We have an address that may be little more than a PO box but its still a start. Law enforcement is not interested in following up .... and the companies that are out money seem to be content with just writing the losses off which we all know ends up costing every consumer in the end. We filed a police report and keep tabs on her credit through the 3 bureaus. When we find a discrepancy we contact the company and send them a copy of the police report and its taken care of but someone is still committing the fraud and companies are still out their (our) money.
