My 2005 trailblazer transmission needs rebuilt. My quote was around 3k. A guy from our Church said he would be able to swap out the transmissions for me if I could find a new one. I went into autozone and they have them available for $1,300 with a 3 year unlimited mile warranty. They were several hundred dollars more at advance. Is getting one throuh autozone a good way to go or is there maybe an even cheaper route?

Jasper is a good rebuild company. I used them in a 3/4ton truck I had. Worked great but they need you to keep up on the maintenance( flush n fills, new filter) but I can't complain. The warranty that comes with it it is amazing. The warranty went to 3yrs 75000 miles parts and labor. Depending on where you are there is a guy that rebuilds them in Ohio. I trust alot so pm me if you need more info.

Put a Jasoer tranny in a van we had - never had a problem with it. The Princess totaled it ~75K miles later.
