Has anyone else heard a buck do the snort wheeze. I had a respectable eight chasing a small four pointer around tonight in some brush. I believe there was a doe locked down there as I never saw her but the buck remained in the area for most of the night. This small buck came thru and suddenly the larger buck chased him off and gave three loud grunts. As the small buck stood behind me I heard a very distinct snort wheeze. I will say it was rather neat to hear. The larger buck definitely was defending his turf. This is the same area that I heard a substantial buck fight two weeks ago. I only wish this bucks antlers were as big as his ego.

I have heard it several times while hunting and I have done it my self to bring in some really nice bucks into shooting range. I use my mouth to do all my calling from doe bleaps, buck grunts, and even snort wheezing. It works and I like vocalizing with my prey. When the time is right it can be deadly. Just like with turkey hunting, bringing them in!
