Hunting my place in Dearborn County this morning. In the stand on the Oak Road where I've killed bucks the last 2 years. My daughter is up to bat this morning. Good morning for her to hunt as it's not too cold. She is strictly after a buck, she says. Neighbor shot a little while ago. Nothing but squirrels for is do far. A lot more shots around than I was expecting. Hoping a buck wanders thru soon. Only hunting the a.m.

I didn't hunt this morning, as I feel that morning hunting for bucks is pretty much over for the year. I figure that food is probably their only motivation now, unlike during the peak of the rut.

My buddy was hunting our Franklin County lease yesterday morning and saw 2 nice bucks cruising between 8 and 10 a.m. He could have shot them both but already filled his buck tag.

Ive sit today out..hit it hard this past week though. Almost wore myself out! Earlier this week was slow i may have saw one small doe in 4 or 5 straight sits, morning and evening. My last 3 sits ive seen 13 different deer. Six of those were bucks. It all changed Thanksgiving morning..the woods erupted with 4 different bucks chasing 3 does..all came through the only shooting lane i had in that direction in a matter of seconds! The biggest being a 115' 8pt that at this point in the year, i was ready to shoot! Yesterday evening had 2 younger bucks that were no doubt looking for doe. Maybe a late doe in estrus? Its been a fun last couple of sits in my area.

Thanks for all the congrats from the other mornings double that my daughter and I managed to do. This morning was a bust for us, but we are waiting it out on this windy afternoon. Daughter is still after a buck. I'll shoot whatever shows up after her tag is filled . We went and checked out a piece of public ground at midday, that I have seen deer in on many occasions while duck hunting. We are going to give it a try in the morning if she doesn't get one tonight.

This is a first deer for a young lady that has been hunting 5 years. She is the one I ask for u all to pray for last year when she fell out of tree stand and totally messed up her angle and leg . 8 surgeries and she is good and back at it. Just a good friend but soooo proud of her for not giving up. Expecially in this world of instant gratifacion

Nice!! Did see few doe's tonight. "dead down wind" worked magic tonight, walking in had two yearlings stand 20yrds from me just looking at me, no blowing or stomping. Then had another 3 walk down wind of stand and I didn't get busted. no shots though. Nice to actually see deer in the woods for once!!

More power to her!!
Lots of folks would have just quit. It's great she went through all that adversity and got back in the hunting saddle.
My congratulations to her on a job well done and best wishes for a lot more in the future.

Not in the stand just yet. But will be in the next 20 mins. Good luck to everyone. Hopefully not as windy as yesterday. As woody would say it was an "eww" wind.
