Back in the stand for the afternoon. Winds a little stronger than the weatherman predicted today and I probably couldn't point it in a worse direction. Last hunt for the weekend down here. Think I'm holding out for a buck unless a doe decides to throw a fit over my smell or any other attempt to mess up my hunt.

Wind is up a bit from the morning, not terrible though and the direction is good. Watching this bottom and found some reasonably fresh droppings pretty close to where I'm set up

Congrats on the bucks guys!! Those are some nice ones!
So explain some of this, Bad news b/c the field where the cows are is where you were going to hunt? Or going by the actions of cattle, They are bedded so the deer are bedded?

Setting in the ground blind over looking the foodplot at my parents house. ANY south wind is good for this property. My 6 y.o. daughter decided she wanted to try it tonight so I have company. My dad seen 3 bucks and 5 does here yesterday. Hopefully we get some action.

Opted for henry over clay co today. Been up since 615 & not a single deer. Gonna move soon, I hope! Not been skunked on sightings from stand yet this yr, hope this isn't the first time. Heard 1 shot ALL day and it was in the distance.

Just shot something. Really not sure what. Popped out at a steady walk across plot. Not much time to decide, think he met the minimums I put on myself but not a monster. We'll see.

I to wonder every time i'd go out to hunt and look at my cattle, I would walk through the pasture everyone is laying down, hmm does that mean the deer are bedded too? I can kinda see there would be similarities between the two as a lot of factures of weather, moon phases and such have affects on cattle. Old timers swear by the moon, when they are in heat, breed, heck even when you should wean calves, is all around the moon phases!

Congratulations on the bucks, guys!
I hunted way off the beaten path this morning, near the very back end of a 325-acre farm. It was 40 degrees when I walked away from the highway at 6AM this morning. I was in a nice, long hollow, so no real wind to speak of. No deer either. LOL! I did hear a single blow about 150-200 yards downwind of me at daybreak, but that was it. Later in the morning, I heard something loud driving all over the fields and couldn't figure out what the heck it could be. When I came out at noon, I saw that it was two lime spreaders. You know, the kind with the single, huge front wheel.
This afternoon, I went to the farm that I scouted in the snow. Walking down a logging road, I found my orange hat that I'd lost that evening. I set up between the large oak-laden area and a gap in the fence where I saw large tracks during my snow scouting. Again, no deer sightings tonight. It started sprinkling rain at the end of legal shooting light.

Zero deer again today..they cut the corn to the west of me, so that's a plus. That corn has been holding some deer. Maybe I can get something on the ground this week.

Windy here in northern Adams county. The tank helps reduce the wind. But I have got to figure out a way to cover these windows. Maybe plastic window film?
