I'd have to get stamp for it if I did, barrel is 15" and it's a handgun scope. I have several HPR's, I'll leave it alone - pretty neat set up just the way it is.

Wow! I'm out this morning looking for a doe AND bam! Two come crashing through the woods. They weren't on a dead sprint but definitely looking to get out of the area quick. I heard them coming and seen them leaving at about 80 yrds out. Brush was too thick for a good shot plus by the looks of things, they weren't wanting to stop anytime soon. Of course as I'm sitting there cursing under my breath I hear some more ruckus. Believe it or not a nice 10 was hot on those does tails. Unlike the does who made a bee line through the area, he was trotting back and forth trying to track the scent of those does. (I'm not kidding) I thought it be cool if I saw a buck this morning BUT wow, not one chasing after tail this late in the season anyways. Missed harvesting either of those does but it's been worth the trip out regardless. Good luck to any and all still hopeful.

A friend and I did a little squirrel hunting this morning, and as you can guess, the thousands of squirrels that I saw during muzzleloader season have all disappeared. We ended up with four between the two of us-- hardly the easy ten that I told him we'd get. LOL!
He also put two .22 slugs in a coyote that slipped past. We were both using suppressed bolt-action rifles, so all I heard was "pffttt. Yelp, yelp. pffttt. Yelp, yelp, yelp." We never could locate it, though the first shot was aimed between the eyes and the second one was a body shot as it ran.

Anybody else use a go-pro? If so any helpful tips? I've done some self-filmed bowhunts, but I'm not as fan of bow-mounted cameras (or on firearms either) due to camera jump right at the shot, which prohibits you from seeing the actual impact. I prefer a tiny HD camcorder so that I have the ability to zoom, and hook it to a swing arm on either my stand or the tree. Good luck, and I hope you get us some good footage.

Wow with that forend I thought for sure it was a little longer. Mine is 17.5" so I will be aok. Is that a Weaver or Burris 10X ? Looks like it to me. Easy come easy go with Contenders/Encore barrels, I have had a few over the years now! Setting on the 260 and 243 rifle for next year if it comes to be. I had a 257 pistol bbl that I sold but kept all the reloading goodies. Now if I could find a used 257 rifle barrel without having to do ANOTHER custom I would be real happy! Jay

Yep it's a Burris; 3-12X but past 10 it gets very touchy. I really like the 260 as well & have a Model 7 in it (Have an XP in 260 as well) but JDUB is going to end up using it more than I will I suspect. It's really the only HPR of mine (other than an AR) that he really shoots well. That 257 Bob would make a really nice one as well; but like you said, not easy to find.

I did some scouting at the farm last evening, stupid me left the muzzleloader at home. I ran across 2 LARGE does bedded down in a patch of sumac that was out in the middle of nothing - not 50 yds in diameter, and about 1/2 mile from any type of woods in a chiseled field. I hope they are back there this evening, I'll be back!!

That target turret threw me off, as I have two 3x12 blk and one 3x9 ss Burris with standard ones. Yes they are the king of magnification in a pistol scope, but tough. JD Jones told me they are no good for recoil but I have/had them on 308/30-06 and 454 Casull. The little Simmons, Bushnell, and B&L leave a lot to be desired in magnification for me. And I HATE the Leupold 2x8, it is clearer than any others, but so touchy I cannot shoot with them at long range to save my but, and too pricey anymore!!! Jay

We are done with deer for the year. Gonna try and trap some coons and beaver in the next few weeks.
Pulled 9 stands Friday and have 11 more to go.
Looking over a new lease I picked up next to my property.... owner has agreed to sell it to me in the future so I'm going to build a small river cabin on it. Its between the roads end and my property so it'll be a nice little chunk to have.....only 20 acres but nice cabin site and lots of new sites for more stands.
