Rural King has a safe on sale that looked like an awesome bargain, at first. Listed at $1299 on sale for $799.
Then I noticed it was 12 ga steel. Seems kind of thin to me but I LIKED the door with many locking lugs ALL THE WAY around. On all 4 sides of the door.
My next thought was this safe, at least the door, would make and awesome door in to a poured concrete and steel gun room. Just set the safe in to the door way and cut the back out so the door of the safe was the entry in to the room and you could make the safe room as big as you want.

A 12 gage door is only thin to a cutting torch, and most burglars don't carry one. All those locking lugs surrounding the frame would make it very hard to open with the wonder bar that most of them do carry.

I'm more concerned with the walls than the door. I like the lugs but if the walls are flimsy it's not that hard to push the wall off the door lugs.
I think having it set in the corner of a basement where two walls are covered and forming it up to put 4" of concrete on the exposed wall and top so it's all poured in to the point of only the door exposed would make that in to about a $2,000 worth of security for about $50 worth of concrete and rebar.
