I voted need more but I've always found it ridiculous that once up a tree a hunter needs any...the issue is safety of confusion between deer and hunters...deer aren't in trees. I'd say any stand over 12 foot orange isn't required once up, however if feet are on the ground I am all for more orange being needed. it is very easy to roll up an orange hat to truly be very little orange present and hard to be seen if at all from the front of a hunter. Agreed on not needed once up a tree.... The DNR wants folks that are concealed in manufactured ground blinds to have 144" of HO on every side. Put that ground blind on a 4 foot platform and we don't need that HO on the blind. So, that begs to question - If a deer hunter goes above that certain height why does he/she still have to wear it? Contradictory for sure... .

If "you'd say we need some more" then wear some more and mind your own business.

While you don't have to put it on the blind above 4 ft, if I'm not mistaken the hunter still has to wear his orange inside the enclosed blind that is 4" (or higher) off the ground.

I am fine with the way they are now .I see no need for the orange on a blind other than for the DNR to locate them from a farther distance is all and I see no need to add to the hunter any more orange at all .

One is supposed to wear it any time in the field during deer firearm season - outside or inside a blind BUT once inside the blind no one can see it so.. If no one can see it then the hunter is not protected by the HO any more. It is like having on full camo at that time. So what is the difference in a full camo hunter 15 foot up a tree? I would NEVER bring this up to the DNR as they would want to require HO on blinds all the time no matter what height.

If "you'd say we need some more" then wear some more and mind your own business. Me, my kids, and anyone hunting my properties do wear more. Everybody is required to wear at least a vest, and first year hunters are required to wear a coat. We will now be minding our own business, and hopefully next year we will be minding our own business with HPR's in hand.

I voted "Yes, leave them alone". I don't have a problem with the current rules now. As for most other laws, I'd just like to see it enforced more.
Last year during gun season, opening morning I sat in a ladder stand in a friends woods along the property line. The only orange I had on was a blaze sock hat. Just as it was getting light enough to see I noticed something moving across the neighboring field through some thick grass...it was the uneducated fellas next door heading into the woods. 3 individuals went in at 3 different locations and only one had on blaze orange; recipe for disaster if you ask me. It didn't take them long to fill their tag as they drug out a little spike. I've decided from then on I would wear at least a blaze orange vest as well as a hat.

Here in Minnesota you must have 50% of your body. Have had deer walk up within feet while setting on the ground and not notice it. Would also make it a little harder for trespassers to sneak onto property's. I would guess if they are going to break the law and trespass Ho is the least of their worries.
