Has anyone used the flextone thinder gobble? A friend of mine bought one and can't get it to sound like the videos. I tried it and I sounded like a dying duck! Not to mention, almost spit all over myself. Are they worth the trouble he's going through to try and get it to work? Any help would be greatly appreciated, so I can pass it along to him. Thanks!

I never understood why a hunter, when hunting for a boy turkey, would try to sound like another boy turkey. I always try to sound like a girl turkey. You know boy/girl or he/she. Unless it's a ...........!!!

Unless it's a ...........!!! Just like during the deer rut (and about every for instance in the human race, LOL) if there is an "available" female around........there is a couple males around willing to fight making sure no other males "take" her and will come at a run. There are more means of making MALE sounds around for deer hunting than sound like a female but there are some. All work at some time or another, I would assume anyway. God Bless

Doesn't seem like anyone has messed with the flextone thunder gobble. Guess I can let my buddy he did it again, fell for some awesome marketing. He has refused to give up on this call but it still sounds like a dying duck when he blows it. Granted, I'm a new turkey hunter and have only heard a limited amount of gobbling, but that call hasn't sounded like anything I've heard so far.

I have a friend who designes a lot of the Flextone turkey products. He makes up a few of what they want and then they pick which ones they like. They seldom pick the ones he thinks turkeys will like the best, but rather pick the ones they think hunters will like the best.
Haven't tried the gobbler thing, but did pick one of the other similar call up one day because my son wanted it. He even said it doesn't sound like a turkey.
There are a lot better options out there if you want to gobble. A good double-sided box call is hard to beat.
