My grandson wanted a hunting dog for Christmas and that just wasn't in the real world of possibilities. So his mom got him this substitute for the time being. Now, the quandary is "What does he name him?" So we thought we would get some input here: Any ideas?

Many years ago we got a real live puppy at Christmas time. After much discussion amongst the family we ended up giving him a Christmas name - Jingle.
He was a good dog.

How about "Nimrod"?
I believe it means Great Hunter or something like that....

Since this is a substitute, for the time being, how about "Temper" for temporary.

Well, Tyler has had a lot of input. Here, family, and friends. And he thought the names suggested here were pretty good. He especially thought "Nimrod" was hilarious because he never heard that word before.
So we wake up this morning and he informed me that sometime in the night he decided on a name...
