What a lucky guy I am this week. Two Thanksgiving dinners followed by two great deer hunts. I think next year we'll have Thanksgiving dinners every weekend of season! Hit the box blind this evening with my brother in law, my son (4), and two of my nephews (8 & 5) which were on their first deer hunt. I can't wait until these kids are big enough to shoot. We sat about an hour and a half and right before the end of legal shooting hours (5 minutes to spare), with one asleep, one telling me he was walking back to grandma and grandpa's house and one that didn't realize we would have to wait on the deer, my brother in law tells me there are two off to the front/side of the blind in the food plot. The kids were in perfect positions already to watch everything. My son and older nephew did the tracking and the doe was found about 25 yards from where shot and at the bottom of a 30 foot spoil bank. My son, who has blood trailed two deer this week, tells me tonight before bed that on the next one he doesn't want me to tell him where I heard it crash, he loves deer hunting with me and that hunting is "awesome".

Way to get those youngsters involved. That had to be a BIG box blind! Congratulations! Woody, it's 6'x6' a short walk from the house and sits on some oats/turnips/radishes. Good spot to take the little ones.
