Due to the lapse in appropriated funds, all public lands managed by the Interior Department (National Parks, National Wildlife Refuges, Bureau of Land Management facilities, etc.) will be closed. For more information, FAQs, and updates, please visit www.doi.gov/shutdown.

They are answering the phones, got my pick in. If the shutdown continues through your hunt draw date the hunt will be cancelled.

I got drawn for Nov 23rd and 24th but my Dad got drawn for Nov 9-10 so we were planning on going on his hunt dates instead of mine. Who knows now though. My hunt could be the first one of the year so I'm thinking I better call next week if the gov't is still shutdown. Just imagine how good it will be next year if it doesn't get hunted this year.

Big Oaks could certainly use a year off! Would be interesting! Jay

I was told that if the Government Shutdown continues NO Draw Hunts/ Quota Hunts will happen this year at Camp Atterbury, Big Oaks, Muscatatuck NWR or any other government property in Indiana or most other states.

volunteers still taking calls today . just called in for reserving an area A relative of mine also called in to choose an Area at Big Oaks NWR, they also said that if the Government Shutdown last until or during the times of the scheduled Draw Hunts, or other hunts, that the hunts will NOT be held this Season. Example: So lets say there is a Quota/ Draw hunt scheduled for October 25th. And the Government Shutdown is still going on, then the October 25th Hunt will be cancelled.
