In areas where I hunt, deer live out their entire lives without ever being more than a half mile from a tree stand or trail camera.

They are able to hide in plain site ..... subtle depressions in a field. Clumps of grass. Tree tops.

I'm not a great judge of age either... Usually I can group them into 2 categories: Too Young or Old Enough (for me). That buck looks pretty young still. However, not everyone has the time, ability, or desire to spend hundreds of hours in a tree every year waiting to shoot a deer.. So if you want to shoot him, then shoot him.

I think my little parcel has hunters all around it. I heard a 4-wheeler close to me last night, but with only having 8 acres they could be really close and not be on my hunting ground.
I am curious about pressure from scents. It seemed as if the does I saw last night were aware of everything around them, even me, but I didn't move when they were looking at me. I think it would be best to have a tree stand. These does were looking all around, but never looked up.

Does are interested in food. Bucks are interested in does and survival. They act differently and differently at different times of the year.
