I also am very interested in his buddy in the last pic. This is the only shot of him I got and I have never seen him before on any of my other cams either. Looks like his velvets already coming off and his left side looks like it might have a lot of junk going on. Either way I am stoked for Oct to get here already!

His body says 2. But he is a good one for 2. I don't usually card deer myself. (Im not a great judge of age...and I also think there are a lot of "expert" judges of age that aren't).

One thing is sure if you kill him, he won't make it to 3.5. Otherwise you don't know. I'd never kill a buck because someone else might do it if I don't. That doesn't equate to well.

BTW - once he sheds he might break into the low 120's at best.
The other deer is a bit better and has some NT points looks like.

The other deer looks like he might be 3.5. He is more stout in the front end.

By the way, is the time stamp correct? I find it odd that those bucks are out at mid-day in this hot weather.

I'm not sayin I would take him just because someone else will. He would be my biggest deer to date. I do like the big guy in the back though too because of his messy rack. Also yes the timestamps are correct which I also thought was very strang lol this stands about 150-200 yards away from a been field but idk why they would be headin that way at noon?

I'd say you won't have to worry about the 8 too much longer. Looks to be a bit camera shy. He'll probably be gone as soon as the velvet dries up some more.

Camera shy? He stood there posing for at least 7 minutes!

I'm learning. When I saw him, I thought that he had a nice rack for a young deer. I thought he was young, because of his lack of body mass. It would be nice to see him in another year.

Camera shy? He stood there posing for at least 7 minutes! Look at his posture. Hes had about all he wants of that spot. Plus it's baited so it can't be hunted legally. Anyway, I'd hold off on shooting him this year.

The three that I saw tonight looked on edge the entire 30 minutes that I watched them. I can't imagine them relaxing much. I have my trail camera set up in bursts, and I noticed that they always seemed to be on edge, but thought that it might be from the noise of the camera ...even though I don't hear it.

I think I am going to try to hold off on him. I really want to get a better look at the 2nd deer in the back. I love wacky racks and his looks like it might be cool plus I think he's older anyway. I'm gonna talk to the neighboring property owner and see if he's got any pics of these guys to see if I can get a better pic of him

Better cameras, like Reconx and a few others let you get multiple close pictures of really good bucks, most of the others will eventually let the deer know he's being watched. Eventually, once they start feeling the pressure and the scents from the camera and the user, they leave for areas that don't have that pressure.

I move my cameras about every 2 weeks. Pretty much if I'm checking the cards they're getting relocated to a different spot. I've got 62 acres all to myself so I like moving them around and seeing what's where on the property

Eventually, once they start feeling the pressure and the scents from the camera and the user, they leave for areas that don't have that pressure. In the areas I hunt, no such places exist. They can run, but they can not hide. It's one 50 to 100 acre parcel after another, all of which have lots of human presence and hunting pressure.
