Found out I drew a tag for area 26. Now I need to figure out how to make the trip happen. I know there was a guy who posted on here that he was a guide in that area.

I was looking for information on the lottery system there, but couldn't find much. Any idea how many points needed to get drawn in better areas? Thanks

Years past you could get drawn the first year, but the DNR have dropped the tag count to raise our bear population so the last couple years it is a minimum of 2 years, sometimes the 3rd year before getting drawn.

Thanks for the info.
I was really trying to find specifics. Like how many permits for each unit, how many applied, and how many points it took to get drawn for the area. Maybe Minnesota doesn't publish all the information like this. I only found how many permits for each unit.

I had two points and was drawn in zone 26. From what I gather it is a good zone.

Last year I applied to zone 99, I think it was. That gets you a preference point. I applied this year for zone 26 and was drawn. Last year it was free to enter the lottery, but this year they started charging $4. I'm sure it depends on the zone you want, but the waiting list isn't nearly that long, well I don't think it is anyway.
