I've been fortunate to acquire 7000 rounds of .22LR at normal prices in the last couple of weeks.

Mid-summer I had 1 ammo can packed with 22lr and 1 can packed full of 22cb's that I have had for years. Then my 13 year old found them and is down to half a can of cb's. He's out plinking almost every day, someone forgot to tell him that sh!ts getting expensive...LOL He said when he shoots them up he will start on the can of 22mags!!!!

and the reason no one else can get any. I picked up 3K more this week. I have no problems with people buying for their own personal use and not for resale purposes.

How long will these 10,000 rounds last you?

How long will these 10,000 rounds last you? I'm not sure. I own an M16 rifle, and with the cost of 5.56MM ammo right now, I'm seriously considering purchasing a dedicated .22LR upper for it. It's much cheaper to blast through a mag of .22LR by far. Since the Governor signed the bill yesterday legalizing sound suppressors for hunting, I'll probably spend more time than I normally do squirrel hunting, and will be using my suppressed Ruger 77/22. Not to mention that with the current political climate and ammo "panic", who knows how readily available ammo will be, and how long it will be until you can actually walk into a store and buy it at will? To be honest, I was caught off guard by the whole panic, and wasn't stocked up properly. I've bought all of this .22LR at Wal-Mart stores, which implement 3-box limits, so I can honestly say that I'm not buying it all and leaving none for others. Sure, it doesn't last long on the shelves, but it's going to be gone just as quickly if there were a one-box limit. People are so used to seeing the bare ammo shelves at Wal-Mart, etc. that they think that no ammo is coming in, and panic. They then turn to online auction sources like Gunbroker and pay 2-3 times as much just to get some. This has fueled a new "business" where people are waiting in line at the Wal-Mart sporting goods counters hours before they open, just so they can buy ammo and turn around and "flip" it for profit. I despise people who are doing that, as they are the main reason for this ammo shortage. If people would stop paying their exorbitant prices, they'd have no reason to buy up ammo to resell. The ammo companies are cranking out more ammo than ever before, so the only shortage is a consumer-created one.
