This morning we set up on a field edge. At first light there were turkeys gobbling everywhere but none came into the field. Another guy with us sent a text telling us the front field was full of birds. So we hustled over and as we got close we saw two birds strutting out in front of us. I sneaked up to a huge tree on the edge of the field and my buddy stayed back to call. I was behind the tree since the turkeys were only 50-60 yards away below a dip. I expected them to show up on the left side of the tree and when they didn't I peaked around the right side and they were within range but leaving quick. I was already on my knees so I shuffled around to the left of the tree and backed away so I could stand. Once I was up I leaned around the tree and shot the Tom at about twenty yards.
