I heard his explaination was he did it to prove a point. The point was correct. If current laws aren't enforced, why the push for new ones?

As I recall from the local paper (an "iffy" source, admittedly), he purchased the AR15 and a .45 handgun, some time before his wife's attack. Perhaps if he would've dedicated himself to being a decent gun owner and also procured a license to carry the firearm, his wife and others would have recalled that fateful day as one where yet another gods man with a gun saved innocent lives from a fool with one. But alas, he's instead trying to make as all safer by taking guns from good, law abiding citizens...

This is just another attempt of "Left-leaning" Liberals where they go in and buy a so called "Assault Weapon" and thumbing their nose at the regular gunowners. His purchase of a AR-15 & Colt M-11 was a "Straw Purchase" in my opinion. His wife is not able to fire a rifle or pistol in her condition.
