Our poor little one year old head-butted a lawn ornament and got a black eye. He then fell off a bench and made it worse, all in about 20 minutes! To avoid endless questions and pity, we skipped Church and had a home lesson focusing on Greed. ( my son needs it) To teach generosity I used Mark 12: 41-44, the story of the poor widow who gave all she had as an offering. To demonstrate the consequences of greed, I related the story of Inalchuq, governor of Otrar in the Khwarezmian Empire in what is now Iran. To make a long story short, he stole Ghengis Khan's caravan of goods and murdered his messengers, resulting in an invasion and complete destruction of Khwarezmia. Inalchug was captured and executed. According to one account, molten silver was poured into his eyes, ears and mouth. The lesson was, your greed cannot only hurt you, but others as well--in this case thousands of other people. ![](http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g160/Klemford/FEB16thblackeye029_zpsc43db660.jpg)

Awww.....mighty cute little guy, even with the mouse under the eye.
You know, if the lawn ornament wasn't homemade, and the instructions didn't expressly concern the dangers inherent in little kids using it for a tackling dummy, you might be entitled to compensation....

Poor little dude. I agree sue the pant off the ornament company until you feel better. ;-)
It seems like every time we have picture scheduled to be taken, my 4 year old ends up with a black eye too.
