Has anyone had the opportunity to try the new Savage .17 WSM? Would liken to ome feedback. Sounds more like a varmiter to me. 3000 fps MV is alot for a rimfire. Love the small calibers even more with ammo price going up. What say you?

That's all we need is another over priced .17 Rimfire. What's wrong with the good 'ole .22 Hornet or even the .17 Hornet? With carefull handloading 3,000 FPS can be achieved using bullets weights < 30 grains. The .22 Hornet can be reloaded while the rimfire can't.

.17s are fun to shoot, devasting proformance and something that everybody doesnt have. I have one that is reloadable and travels at a tad over 4,000 fps. Itll turn ground hogs inside out, kills deer on contact and vaporizes p-dogs.

Timex, Is that a .17 Rem? They work well on foxes too. Sweet guns.

I once had a custom rifle made on a Sako action in .17 Remington which was okay and accurate but only if it's not too windy.
