I'm still trying to find out how many of the children at Sandy Hook were shot with an "assault rifle" Talk about jumping on a liberal media bandwagon!!!

It isn't over yet. From what I've read, there are several very good legal challenges that can be taken. I'm more worried about Obama's nineteen measures he thinks he can take trhough Executive Action.

At least part of this law will be found unconstitutional. Here's one of them, part of the new law requires mental health doctors and agencies to report mental issues with NICS, to prevent mentally ill people from obtaining guns or ammo. Sounds reasonable to most people......BUT it also makes it illegal for any other person living with that person to own and have a firearm in that same house. That includes mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters. So if say a family that has been hunting together for years, some time has one family member suddenly start to have mental problems that are treated and reported (it does happen that way sometimes) the info goes into the background check system. Then that family has to give up ALL their firearms or move that family member to another location to be out of that house.

QUESTION: In the state of New York it is now illegal to own a firearm that holds more than 7 rounds regardless of caliber or firearm. Does this mean that .22 Rifles like Ruger's 10/22 or their Model 77/22 LR, become illegal?? How about Marlin's Model 60 and a host of other rifles and handguns?? I really don't think this NY law will be around for very long.

Magazines are grandfathered but actually putting more than 7 rounds in them is illegal.
This needs to make its way to scotus......

There are several gun makers in NY, including Remington. I hope they are packing their bags and ready to exit the area in search of greener pastures.

Liberal minds migrate to urban areas .... conservative minds stay in the suburban areas.
I was in Tampa recently and every time I go to a larger city I am reminded that those folks are just different than me.

Then the gooberment could control their imports/ban them. Would be suicide.

Raporter, I take offense at that last statement! LOL ;D After GM left Anderson, it is in the worse shape I have seen it in in 40 plus years! No industry = no jobs and no economy which is affecting all of Madison County. Drug use, mainly meth, is growing by leaps and bounds, and tweekers don't vote, so I don't see them as a problem when it comes to politics. Indiana has predominately stayed a Republican controlled state for many years with two notable exceptions, the presidential elections of Kennedy and Obama term 1. It would be hard for me to see our legislators voting strict gun ban rules in. What makes me mad is all of the hype from Chicago about all of Indiana's illegal guns winding up in the hands of criminals in their state! Do something about it then! A felon with a gun is still a felon, prosecute and punish accordingly!
